| wait what, really? If I had known that, I would have acted differently...oh well. I was thinking of something witty to write for my death post, but I ended up just watching us lose instead. | |

This isn't entirely false, but isn't true, either. This is the closest rules I could find pertaining to this topic: - PH pg.145-146 wrote:
"If any sort of healing cures the dying character of even 1 point of damage, he stops losing hit points and becomes stable."
"A stable character who has been tended by a healer or who has been magically healed eventually regains consciousness and recovers hit points naturally."
"One hour after a tended, dying character becomes stable, roll d%. He has a 10% chance of becoming conscious, at which point he is disabled (as if he had 0 hit points). If he remains unconscious, he has the same chance to revive and become disabled every hour."
It's possible to interpret from this that a character goes to 0 hit points after becoming stable (due to another's Heal check or magical healing). Therefore, from what I see, Alterith is now no longer losing hp because Mystia stabilized him with a Heal check. One hour after this, Alterith makes another d% ("DC" 10%) check to regain consciousness - he'd still be at -10, but counts as disabled (0 hp) and so can therefore only use one non-strenuous movement or standard action per round (any strenuous activity deals 1 damage to him at the end of the round). At the moment, as Krytox and Mystia have not yet received aid, if they make the d% check on their own to stop dying, they then have to start making d% every hour, save as above, to become conscious. In their case, however, failing each hourly d% check results in losing 1 hp and remaining unconscious.

| well, regardless....... the new large pirate is going to make quick work of our allies, and if a 17 doesn't hit the enemies any more, this battle has become damn near impossible. Good luck guys, we'll all need it. | |

| Okay, so the bigger question is can we somehow induce consciousness into stable characters. I'm not exactly sure, because if you think of a real life situation, a person involved in a car accident isn't likely to wake up unless on their own. It could be days later, even. However, we're not exactly normal people in Novemterra, or any d20 campaign, for that matter, we have extra resilience (going to -17hp, etc), so I don't know. Apparently the only two ways are: 1) become conscious on your own at 10%/hr or 2) get HP to 0. Obviously an unconscious character would be unable to partake of delicious healing potions, even when aided by another character...right? | |

| well, without magical means, if you're in the negatives, you wouldn't wake up for a while. characters heal 1hp/level from a day of bed rest. So if we find a place to keep the 3 of you and whichever of me or zadok who is also inevitably dropped, we can all naturally heal :) Or, we can just force feed someone a potion....... idk, things look grim. | |

| you're not dead...... you still have 3 - hp to go!
And Jerry...... seriously. If you're fighting someone to the death, wouldn't you keep your focus on them to try and beat them? It really doesn't make sense that he would waste a chance to drop his foe on slaying one of the foe's already dying comrades who can't do anything to kill him. if it were me, I would take out the centaur, and then take my time with the 3 dropped characters, not waste an opportunity to finish off someone who could very well drop me in an instant.

| It's the Diehard feat. Its prerequisite is the Endurance feat (which has no preprequisite of its own). Of course, in this case, Diehard would apply until the negative Con score (as you mentioned) and not -10 as stated. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm | |

| Haha, yeah dude. Also, I like how they made Endurance much more useful - not becoming fatigued after sleeping in armor for the night is huge in my book! (it sure would've helped against all those times Mike tried to kill us and loot us in our sleep) x) | |

| oh wtf...somehow I thought my strength was my con. I was already thinking of another character to roll. It would have been Mystia's sister, looking for her, LOL.
I am so creative. Except that she didn't get the curse, so she just flops around on the ground a lot, smells like fish all the time, and refuses to wear clothing. She's also really ugly. Lowest roll goes to...CHA!
so yeah. Looks like I'm going to rewrite my post up there...and continue to fail stabilize checks.
