| Note: These house rules apply for all games in this forum ("Scars of the Planet") run by DM Boomerwang. If your SotP game is being run by another DM, check with them to see if they will be using these house rules or providing their own.

| House Rules for Scars of the Planet
- Prestige Classes: DM permission required before taking any prestige class.
- Evil Alignments: Characters may not be Neutral Evil or Chaotic Evil. Becoming either alignment for any reason causes the character to be forfeited automatically, without prior warning.
- Player Absence: If a player misses a (combat) post, the DM may control their character, with all results being final. If the player provides prior notification, the character may opt out of the combat - doing so prevents the character from interacting in any way with the encounter(s) during the absence, and the character forfeits all XP and treasure rewards.
- Natural Rolls: For attacks and saving throws only, a natural 20 counts as 30, and a natural 1 counts as -10. They are no longer automatic hits or misses.
- Size-Based Death from Massive Damage - The amount of damage from a single source a character can take without risking instant death from trauma depends on the character's size:
Size | Damage Threshold | Fine | 10 | Diminutive | 20 | Tiny | 30 | Small | 40 | Medium | 50 | Large | 60 | Huge | 70 | Gargantuan | 80 | Colossal | 90 |
- Death Threshold: Your character dies when it reaches a negative hit point total equal to its Constitution score (which may be higher or lower than 10). Rules for dying, stabilization, being disabled, etc. apply as normal.
- Craft, Disable Device, Listen, Spot, Move Silently, Hide checks: You may make these rolls for your character. (By default, the DM rolls these checks for your character.)
- Light Sources: (Ruling) Light sources (eg. torches) provide half light visibility when lying on the ground. Character size does not affect light visibility range.
- DM Rolls on Behalf of Players: (Clarification) When necessary (such as to speed up gameplay), the DM may roll any required rolls for a character without that player's permission. If that player makes rolls pre-emptively (such as if the player is anticipating attacks of opportunity), the DM will use such rolls.
